Patek Philippe watches began to be manufactured in 1851 in Geneva. Initially, pocket watches were manufactured. However, one of the owners, Adrien Philippe, invented the mechanism that did not require a key to pull up the watch. In 1868, Patek Philippe’s first wristwatch was manufactured. The brand is one of the three watch manufacturers that are usually called the three big “the big trio”. The other two watch manufacturers that belong to the trio are Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet.
