The Spectacular Knights of the Round Table by Roger Dubuis

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table III Hyperwatch

Roger Dubuis isn’t a brand for the timid. The manufacturer is well known for its very complex and occasionally flashy versions, all of which take pride in their flawless finish. Even a newcomer cannot predict the usual with lines like Hyper Watches and Excalibur.

It is not surprising that the manufacturer’s even more legendary Knights of the Roundtable collection sold out soon after release as many playful enthusiasts relate to this envisioned Roger Dubuis universe. Since its debut release in 2013, the compilation has been released in numerous versions. The miniature knight models have always stood upright and pointed their weapons at the center axis. They were shown with generic faceted designs on some versions while refined on others. Besides, they were primarily a representation of sturdiness and camaraderie among knights.

The Excalibur Knights of the Round Table timepiece line is a new classic offering from Roger Dubuis’ Hyper Horology studio in Geneva. Based on a narrative from the Middle Ages, this collection blends artistic skill, horological expertise, and modern design. The latest edition featuring the recognizable Monotourbillon movement has been added.

Twelve miniature sculptures, or “Knights,” are arranged on the dial, or “Round Table,” to create the piece’s instantly recognizable visage. These 12 heroes taking part in the adventure are represented by the handmade Pink Gold 750/1000 Knights. Every knight is only 6 mm high, has been given a unique character, and is fitted with armor.

The table, which represents the equality and oneness of the Knights, is formed of diamonds, valuable materials, or components that require certain techniques. On the other hand, the watch is equipped with a superb automated caliber. It was created in the Roger Dubuis factories and Poinçon de Genève-certified, among the most stringent certifications of Haute Horlogerie.

The Knights of the Round Table step it up with their new watch by including a core monotourbillon caliber. Out of the central table comes the monotourbillon. It is a brand-new caliber created especially for this watch and is approved by the Poinçon de Genève.

The center table is composed of purple-hued color-blocked crystal sapphire. Additionally, revolving crystal sapphire plates are used to make the indexes. With precisely centered revolving discs, the two golden markings show where the minute and hour are. Murano glass has been used to sculpt the clear purple blocks. As they circle the Monotourbillon, they seem to levitate. Also, the double-surfaced border was crafted from a single Murano glass block.

American TV host Steve Harvey is wearing a 47mm Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table III, inspired by the legend of King Arthur’s Excalibur tale. At the top of each gold section sits a knight in shining gold armour, his sword pointed to the centre, pledging allegiance to the King. The knights are gathered at the center of a tablemade of solid blue enamel blocks and each knight is reproduced in three dimensions and are only 6.5 mm high. Made in pink gold, they are sculpted, engraved and finished by hand. Photo: Fashion Bomb Daily

The setup mechanism is decremented to a location at 2 o’clock in line with the concept and to honor the knight’s spot at 3 o’clock. When you press this button, a tiny red flag appears to show that the watch has switched from the wound to reset mode.

Lastly, the 45mm wide Pink Gold 750/1000 casing of the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table Monotourbillon is protected by a jagged bezel. A dark calf-leather band with embossing is also included with the watch.
