The New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 43mm Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph in Black Ceramic

Revolution Watch

This year marks an important 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore. As a result, the cool-tone Self-winding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph from Audemars Piguet has been added to the line and is offered in a black ceramic casing with green lacquered parts.

The updated AP Royal Oak Offshore Flying Tourbillon Chronograph is exactly like the original edition introduced in 2021, although with a more modern appearance. Nevertheless, the 43mm casing’s material selection and the green colors used to accent the dial edge parts are what really set them apart.

In addition, this new 43mm Royal Oak Offshore line includes a complete ceramic case and caseback for the first time. With revised, bigger finished bevels on the sides, several polishing methods are used to highlight the greatest features of the casing design. Furthermore, AP accomplished ceramic production and tooling for the full-ceramic bracelets and the casings. However, only this model is available with a green rubber strap that matches various dial components.

We are reminded of fighter jets and sports cars by the style of this Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph. The dial boasts a modern, bold open-worked construction underneath the somewhat convex sapphire crystal. You will also be amazed by the movement frame’s vent-like face and the broad, beveled arches to the left and right of the flying tourbillon.

The gear system serves as the background for the upper portion of the dial, whereas the flying tourbillon at six o’clock is the clear focal point and shows the internal intricacies of the escapement.

The black outside ring of the chronograph counters does not obscure the vision. Likewise, in keeping with the sporting theme of the line, the little hands that show the minutes or hours have the exact red color as the big chronograph display.

Huge pink golden markers with a Super-LumiNova stripe along the center show the time. Similarly, the gold color pattern is extended throughout the crown, balancing wheel, and the AP symbol to emphasize the extraordinary watch’s place as a premium item.

Additionally, the vibrant green color that gives this new Royal Oak Offshore model its distinctive appearance is used in the rubber band, the rubber seal, and some dial components. The minutes counter has a green anodized inside bezel featuring exceptionally readable black-printed markers and numbers. Generally, all of the movement’s colors contribute to this visual experiment, which is accentuated by green inlays with an aluminum coating on the black PVD-treated titanium arches.

The Royal Oak Offshore special edition is powered by the caliber 2967. It is a significantly upgraded edition of the in-house flying tourbillon flyback Chrono caliber 2952 that was first introduced with the Code 11.59 series a few years ago. Furthermore, this mechanical movement has 526 components, runs at a 3Hz speed, and has an assured power reserve of 65 hours.

Overall, there are only 100 copies available of this New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph in black ceramic. It also comes with a titanium foldable buckle, an extra black rubber strap, as well as an adjustable green rubber strap.
