The two long-term partners, TAG Heuer and Porsche, team up once more to create the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing. This striking, dynamic watch pays homage to the racing world.

TAG Heuer and Porsche established one of the most powerful alliances between a car company and watchmaking in February 2021. Therefore, this latest TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing is their 6th watch, following five spectacular models that captivated aficionados of both products. Moreover, it’s a design highlighting the undying love for racing admired by both companies.

TAG Heuer and Porsche Shared History

Porsche and TAG Heuer both have a long history, a strong sense of independence, and a commitment to excellent design. Their footsteps have crossed and entwined on and beyond the racetrack for about seven decades. Furthermore, the foundation of TAG Heuer and Porsche’s strong and enduring relationship is their shared motorsports history, with the Carrera brand itself probably being among the most evident threads.

Carrera Panamericana is iconic and regarded as one of the riskiest races in the world. It served as an inspiration for Jack Heuer as well as Porsche, which took home its first-class win at the Carrera Panamericana event in 1954. It also dedicated its most potent variant to its tribute.

Upon learning of the race’s extremely evocative title from the Rodriguez brothers in Sebring in 1962, he opted to give it a fitting description for his upcoming 1963 chronograph. Since then, the TAG Heuer Carrera and the Porsche 911 Carrera both have evolved into iconic models. The 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was recently demonstrated in Paris.

These co-owners agreed to create a unique special edition of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph as the ideal representation of their race legacy. This is after previously sharing a number of noteworthy accomplishments and the joy of a successful collaboration.

Frédéric Arnault, the CEO of TAG Heuer, stated that given the strong tradition connected with Porsche in the racing sector, they are pleased to unveil a new timepiece that represents every facet of this amazing sport. Additionally, the item pays homage to the shared heritage between TAG Heuer and Porsche, a legacy on which they are still expanding. He also said that the staff had worked together to produce a bold and strong watch featuring a sports yet stylish design using their collective knowledge and creativity.

Similarly, according to the Chief Marketing Officer at Porsche AG, Robert Ader, the racing world is the focus of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing. It signifies exceptional performance and the excitement of speed, values both Porsche and TAG Heuer embrace immensely. Indeed, this is a wonderful illustration of the shared thoughts as their partnership progresses.

About TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph X Porsche Orange Racing Watch

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing is inspired by the well-known TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph. It maintains the high standards of quality and functionality set by the internal Calibre Heuer 02, a 168-part movement produced exclusively at TAG Heuer’s Chevenez workshop and incorporating a column rotor and a vertical lever.

Furthermore, these characteristics provide a remarkable 80 hours of power reserve and enable outstanding chronometric efficiency.

In addition, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing style adheres to the distinctive Porsche look and, perhaps more significantly, the racing world surrounding it. The watch’s bright orange hue, which was prompted by the shade of heat flashes produced by the vehicle on the road, can be seen across it.

It also references the tone of fire, which is a speed-related sign. The Porsche insignia on the bezel, the polish on the crown, the graphical elements found in subtle touches on the dial featuring azure registers, and the orange seconds’ pointer are all evidence of this color.

Black, another important hue in this limited edition, subtly enhances the orange’s brilliance through contrast. Black has been employed in a variety of patterns and finishings by the TAG Heuer architects to produce this unified aesthetic with discreet coloring accents.

On the other hand, Diamond-like carbon (DLC) has been used to give the casing the top-quality black finish achievable. DLC features deep, exquisite shade and constant resistance, which makes it exceptional. Moreover, this black dial’s polish draws its design cues from movement and speed.

The specially built oscillation weight, which honors the Porsche steer wheel, is one relic from the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche models of 2021 and 2022. The mass is marked with “Porsche” and “TAG Heuer” and can be seen via the sapphire glass case back. Also, it incorporates accents in black and orange, like the column wheel, to harmonize the look of this unique timepiece.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing’s carbon-like calfskin band, which is black to complement the brilliant orange, is the ideal final finish to the race theme.

The striking difference between the orange threading and lining makes a subtle reference to the seat fabric of Porsche automobiles. This stitching also alludes to the racetrack marks that speeding cars create.
