Patrick Dempsey – TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 1979 -1989 ‘Special Edition’

Actor and TAG Heuer ambassador Patrick Dempsey is wearing the discontinued 169 pieces limited TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 1979 -1989 ‘Special Edition.’ The timepiece was created to celebrate Monaco’s 50 year anniversary and features a 39mm stainless steel case with a special red chronograph dial that has silver and black touches with two silver sub-dials at 3 and 9.

Watch Description

The red dial on the TAG Heuer Monaco 1979-1989 Special Edition is uncommon. Although it appears to be among the most appropriate dial colors for the piece linked with motorsport, fewer brands use it. The color red conjures up images of peril, famous racing emblems, and blazing disc brakes piercing the night sky. Even at this preliminary phase, there’s no doubt that this newest timepiece exudes fiery passion, and most users are charmed by its radiant complexion.

The dial’s face is embellished with a sunray finish, resulting in a varied canvas featuring coral and vermillion tints. This is a complicated dial with a distinct look. The hour and minute displays have the same design as the classic 1969 model; they’re all white except for the black triangle points. The center Chrono seconds indicator is thinner, making it look crisper and interpreting time with unparalleled clarity.

The subdials feature rhodium-plated and contrast well with the primary dial skin, keeping with Heuer Monaco heritage. The tiny second indicator next to 3 o’clock and the 30-minute Chrono register across the room have sparkling silver hands and extremely legible numbers and markers.

The watch’s date window, placed at 6 o’clock behind the elegantly carved sapphire crystal, is a must-have for every Monaco. A faceted opening reveals black numerals attached to a white date disc. A white border separating it from the dial’s remainder frames the aperture.

The stainless steel casing of Monaco has always made it stand out from the crowd. The key reason for choosing is most likely Monaco’s unusual torso. The crown’s placement on the left flank of the case is due to the movement design of the original model (Chronomatic Calibre 11). Whereas the crown may now be positioned on the right, this would detract from Monaco’s allure.

The Heuer Monaco has been equipped with an elegantly crafted casing since its birth. The lugs and center case portion are machined from a single steel block. Extended spells of machining are required due to the various facets and angles. The casing’s top surface, the caseband’s central part, and the caseback are all satin-brushed. The other surfaces are highly refined, creating a pleasing contrast with their subdued counterparts.

Perpendicular and spherical satin-brushed surfaces contrast on the casing’s dorsal flank. The caseback’s middle region is imprinted with vintage branding, including ‘1979-1989 Special Edition’ as well as ‘One of 169’.

The Calibre 11 is a stylish watch with a full-size rotating weight. The balance rate is 28,800 VpH (4Hz), while the movement features 59 jewels. The power reserve allows for 40 hours of self-contained operation.

Overall, TAG Heuer has improved the customer experience by integrating sprinklings to become detailed through. Simply put, this watch appears to be one-of-a-kind.
