The 2021 timepiece features a sunburst olive green dial, surrounded by a baguette diamond factory set bezel and a classic Nautilus bracelet.

Overall Review

After the revelation that the stainless steel Patek Philippe Nautilus version Ref. 5711/1A featuring a blue dial would be discontinued in 2021, Patek Philippe introduced a completely new stainless steel model with an olive green sunburst dial. It unveiled an extraordinary partnership with the latest reference 5711/1300A-001.

This piece combines stainless steel and baguette-cut diamonds, which are normally exclusively seen in precious metal timepieces. A line of 32 flawless Top Wesselton baguette diamonds weighing roughly 3.6 carats is crafted to the finest levels of the master jeweler’s technique. This emphasizes the bezel and casing’s distinctive design.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A-001 features a similar 40mm steel case (8.3mm thick) as the 5711/1300A-001. However, the bezel is set with 3.6 carats of baguette-cut diamonds. Every baguette diamond is carved to fit the octagonal bezel featuring curved sides perfectly. Besides, it has a small trapezoidal design rather than the traditional rectangle. That’s a more manly way to experience diamonds, giving this semi-sporty bracelet timepiece the evening-wear variant.

In addition, the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A-001 has a water resistance of up to 120 meters. It also features the same innovative self-winding caliber 26-330 S C as the Ref. 5711/1A-014, which is visible through the sapphire case back.

The diamonds’ brilliance shines through on the olive green dial, which was debuted with reference 5711/1A-014. The dial is distinctive, with its horizontally engraved Nautilus ornamentation and the exquisite sheen of the sunburst finishing. The white gold hourly markings and slightly curved baton hands are treated with an illuminating material, ensuring exceptional readability at all times during the day and in darkness.

The incorporated band and 40 mm stainless steel casing hug the wrist for a comfortable and secure fit. The modest combination of hand-polished as well as satin-finished parts, like in all preceding Nautilus versions, emphasizes the dynamic of the unique forms.

Patek Philippe’s in-house caliber 26-330 S C mechanical movement is housed within the timepiece and can be seen via the sapphire transparent caseback display.

Overall, Patek Philippe’s accomplishment with the Nautilus is attributed in significant portion to the watch’s customary convenience and elegance, as well as the amount of support it has received from watch enthusiasts. The Nautilus, which renowned watchmaker Gerald Genta created, has evolved into more of a capital asset than a conventional luxury piece. This is due to the fact that Nautilus timepiece manufacturing is inherently limited (casings are polished like jewelry pieces and hence take as long to make as a movement). They are therefore closely correlated with market stability.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus has a lot of appeal as a watch. It’s well-made, really comfy, features a beautifully slim automated movement, and is fashionable. This is in addition to being the second newest sporty timepiece to include an olive green dial.
