Singer Nicky Jam is wearing a 41 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon with an 18-carat pink gold case and bracelet.

The timepiece features a smoked grey sunburst “Evolutive Tapisserie” pattern dial that radiates from the flying tourbillon cage.

About The Watch

17 November 2020, Le Brassus Audemars Piguet, a Swiss designer of Haute Horlogerie, was excited to unveil the first Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon. The Company introduced three 41 mm models, including the 18-karat pink gold for the occasion, each accompanied by a tasteful dial layout.

For the Royal Oak’s 25th anniversary, the Royal Oak Tourbillon initially appeared in 1997. This most recent version, which includes a flying tourbillon with a self-winding system, brings back this contemporary classic with innovative looks for the new period.

The watch is made of 18-karat pink gold, which offers a modern contrast. A smokey grey sunburst “Evolutive Tapisserie” motif dial that has pink gold hourly markings and indexes highlights the pink gold casing and bracelet. Besides, the fluttering tourbillon cage gives a soft pink gold sheen.

The brand’s signature satin-brushing with refined chamfers has been hand applied to the bracelet and case for a striking contrast of matt and glossy finishes. A similar dial style with an anthracite motif is used on the 18K pink golden variant. Metal bracelets made to fit the particular variation are provided with cases and have a 50-meter waterproofness rating.

An inscribed 24-karat gold Audemars Piguet logo is included on the latest Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon, marking a first for the Royal Oak line. It is created using a chemical procedure called galvanic growth, which is similar to a 3D printer and produces tiny plates of gold. Every letter is joined together by little, nearly undetectable connections. The trademark is then manually applied to the dial using extremely small legs. The symbol was initially created to decorate Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet’s glossy polished dials.

Caliber 2950, the Maker’s most recent type of self-winding movement incorporating a flying tourbillon with a center wheel, was introduced in 2019 and powers this new variant. The Royal Oak Concept line included the initial flying tourbillon timepiece from Audemars Piguet in 2018.

The 27-jewel automatic movement, which has a diameter of 30.9mm x 6.24mm and a rate of 3Hz (21600vph), provides 65 hours of power reserve if totally wound. The caliber’s adornment in accordance with AP requirements draws attention in addition to its technological features. It is driven by a full-size punched solid gold wheel.

The hand-finished flying tourbillon cage is viewable from the caseback or dial edges. Besides, it offers a stunning sight of a number of the piece’s regulatory elements that enable its movement. Moreover, the movement’s intricate embellishments, including “Côtes de Genève,” satin-brushing, snailing, and hand-polished chamfers, are visible through the caseback. The pink gold or pink gold that has been rhodium-toned oscillation mass is also visible.

Indeed, the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon is an exquisitely made watch that combines modern style with traditional craftsmanship.
