As designers of fine writing instruments, Montblanc expanded its products into the realm of luxury goods including timepieces, leather goods, jewelry, accessories and more. The Montblanc brand puts specific emphasis on itself as a timepiece retailer, and it has its own manufacture located in Switzerland where it produces the company’s watches. The brand offers a variety of timepieces including chronographs, automatics, and even smart watches. The most popular collections include the Heritage, the Montblanc 1858 and the Star Legacy lines.

The Montblanc 1858 Automatic Chronograph was introduced at SIHH 2018. It pairs the vintage aesthetics of the 1858 collection with a self-winding Sellita-based chronograph movement, the latter significantly lowering the price compared to other chronograph watches in the collection. The case measures 42mm across at a height of 14.55mm., , Reference 117836 has a stainless steel case and a black dial. It is fitted with a cognac-colored aged calf leather strap.
