As designers of fine writing instruments, Montblanc expanded its products into the realm of luxury goods including timepieces, leather goods, jewelry, accessories and more. The Montblanc brand puts specific emphasis on itself as a timepiece retailer, and it has its own manufacture located in Switzerland where it produces the company’s watches. The brand offers a variety of timepieces including chronographs, automatics, and even smart watches. The most popular collections include the Heritage, the Montblanc 1858 and the Star Legacy lines.

The Montblanc 1858 reference 117833 is a smaller version of the 2017 reference 116241. It was introduced at SIHH 2018. It features a stainless steel case -now 40 rather than 44mm- with bronze bezel and crown, and a black dial with Arabic numerals and cathedral hands with cream-colored SuperLuninova. It is fitted with a vintage-style calfskin strap in cognac., , This watch is also available with a black dial and a high-quality black “NATO” strap (reference 117832) or a smoked champagne dial and a cognac-coloured aged calf leather strap (reference 119065).
