Matthew McConaughey – TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph

In the 2011 movie “The Lincoln Lawyer,” defense attorney Mick Haller, who worked out of his Lincoln and was played by Matthew McConaughey, wore the rare and discontinued stainless steel 42,5 mm TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph featuring a white dial and a brown crocodile strap.

The timepieces have a rotating system at 6 o’clock, indicating a second time zone, and a Grande-Date at 12 o’clock.

About The Watch

Heuer is known for creating several ground-breaking watches and marketing them. The Carrera trilogy began in 1964. Sporting pieces from the Heuer Carrera range are primarily influenced by motorsport. The Carrera was created by Jack Heuer, a devoted motorsports fanatic. Excellent legibility, waterproofness, and shock resistance are Carrera products’ hallmarks.

The Carrera rose to prominence as the world’s most well-known sporting chronograph. Excellent instances of craftsmanship are the Carrera line’s sporting pieces. The excellence of this wristwatch is attested to by the countless innovative versions and form modifications.

The Grand Carrera line’s introduction in 2007 signaled a significant milestone for TAG Heuer. Connecting to an older market group was challenging because most of these customers hadn’t ever purchased a wristwatch from the label before. TAG Heuer took on this issue head-on and proceeded to establish the Grand Carrera as a member of the top high-end timepiece series worldwide. The Grand Carrera collection is a high-end design line that combines a number of best-selling elements to provide pieces with extensive performance and exceptional beauty.

TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph is thus a fantastic piece of art. It comes in a brown leather strap featuring a crocodile motif and a stainless steel casing in a silver hue. It has a fitted stainless steel bezel in a silvery color and an analog type of dial. The hourly stick markings and luminous silver tint hands decorate the silver dial. Minute markings are placed around the edge and include indicators and hands that glow. Furthermore, a Grande-Date indication is located at 12 o’clock. And just above 6 o’clock, a subdial with the text GMT is visible.

Caliber 8 RS mechanical movement by Tag Heuer powers this TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph. It features 21 jewels, a power reserve of about 42 hours, and beats at a speed of 28800 mph.

Furthermore, the TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph is made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown with flutes. It also has a case back with a sapphire crystal display and is waterproof to a depth of 100 meters (330 ft). Second, minute, hour, huge date, GMT, second time zone, and chronometer are all functions. Other significant features include a rounded casing measuring 42.5 mm in diameter and 13 mm in thickness, as well as a deployment clasping.

The Grand Carrera chronology is rather basic, in contrast to several of TAG Heuer’s brand lines. The Rotating System (RS) disc included in all the versions is the line’s most distinctive design feature. The conventional sub-dials are replaced with discs. These discs add a unique accent to the series with their artistically designed semi-circular glossy rims.
