Martin Ødegaard – Rolex GMT-Master II in stainless steel

Footballer Martin Ødegaard, who plays as a midfielder for Arsenal and captains the Norway national team, is wearing a 40mm Rolex GMT-Master II in stainless steel featuring a black cerachrom insert ceramic bezel surrounding a black dial.

This discontinued model, the first GMT to feature a scratch-resistant Cerachrom bezel, allows the wearer to read 3 time-zones simultaneously, thanks to the green 24-hour hand and all black rotatable bezel.

Overall Watch Review

In 2007, Rolex stopped making the GMT-Master II reference 16710 and replaced it with the current 116710LN. The revolutionary maxi-case concept, which had been debuted two years earlier with the introduction of the yellow gold version, was then extended to the eagerly anticipated stainless steel edition. Hence, the 116710LN stands out in the current market as the only stainless steel contemporary GMT-Master II reference featuring a black bezel.

Naturally, the Rolex GMT-Master II bezel was the subject of all the press. The inlays used in most of Rolex’s sporty or tool timepieces had been constructed of aluminum since the 1950s. They were eventually replaced with those made of the company’s newly trademarked materials, known as “Cerachrom.” Although durable and sturdy, aluminum was nonetheless prone to rusting and scratching from everyday use with time. Rolex created Cerachrom in-house to be practically impenetrable to UV radiation deterioration and scratch-resistant.

Rolex GMT-Master II also advanced significantly from its earlier methods. There are no hollow middle links or ending links on the bracelet of the new watch. The imprinted clasp is no longer present. Besides, the bracelet is much more opulent and sophisticated than ever. The lugs can be spaced apart by 20mm if you so like.

It has complemented polished core links with outside satin links and finished flanks. It’s a beautiful finish that highlights the GMT’s superb craftsmanship as one of Rolex’s great arsenal.

Everything is more prominent on the Rolex GMT-Master II dial. Additionally, they are composed of white gold, which has lifetime wear and corrosion resistance.

In addition, Rolex GMT-Master II provides the best visibility. The large boy indicators on this current Rolex dial, which has a maxi design, are breathtakingly furious. Since the lume is made of a glowing substance unique to Rolex, you may be sure it is the best available.

An excellent gloss black lacquer dial base supports the markers. It adds greater richness, reflection, and sparkle and harmonizes flawlessly with the bezel and white gold indexes. With its green GMT hand as well as logo, it also offers a lovely touch of green.

Inside, hidden below the immaculately clean and unblemished caseback, is Rolex’s own Caliber 3186 movement. A 48-hour power reserve, mechanical winding with smooth bidirectional movement, 31 jewels, a full balance bridge, and a free-sprung index for maximum shock tolerance are just a few of its many features.

The dual time function is another feature that the GMT Master has had since the initial GMT Master II 16760 was introduced in the 1980s. This implies that the 24-hour display and central hour hand can shift freely.
