Italian rapper, singer, and songwriter Fedez is wearing a Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Sapphire Baguettes featuring a 45mm transparent sapphire crystal case. The power reserve is outstanding at 115 hours when fully wound, and the skeletonized dial is surrounded by a bezel that has been set with 48 baguette-cut diamonds.

About the Watch

Every watch artwork strives to stand out, to declare its creative and compelling identity at all times. Despite the vast array of materials, functionalities, colors, and designs, one manufacturer stands out; Hublot. Hublot represents the relation between watchmaking legacy and modernity. Thus it generates fusions of unforeseen high-performance features including carbon, tantalum, zirconium, titanium, ceramic, tungsten, and aluminum with more classic materials like gold, diamonds, steel, and exquisite stones – whereas establishing conventional movements.

The tourbillon is still one of the most important horological complexities, and it is unquestionably the work of the best professional watchmakers. It comprises a device that compensates for the interference caused by the influence of gravity to increase timepiece reliability. The balance, as well as escapement, are contained in a cage that rotates once every minute on its axis. In addition to its fundamental feature, the tourbillon gives visual impact through its revolving cage, owing to its beauty and the elegance of its escapement’s functioning.

Hublot’s skeleton Big Bang Tourbillon shows the world it has nothing to conceal with an entirely transparent casing, dial, bracelet, and movement. This is the first time sapphire bridges have been used to accentuate the curves of the gears via contrast. The middle, bezel, case back, and tourbillon bridge of the sapphire casing exposes a floating crystal system. The gem-set edition’s 48 baguette-cut diamonds gave Hublot more room to explore.

Sapphire is hard to machine in anticipation of gem-setting due to its rigidity. Hublot’s answer is to create cells in the bezel precisely the same size as the diamonds. The stones are then put from underneath, the bezel is rotated over, and the timepiece is screwed to the casing, hence retaining the watch’s total transparency.

The 42mm casing is composed of cleaned sapphire crystal and placed onto a clear-coated rubber strap with a stainless steel folding clasp. The clasp contains the legendary self-winding HUB 4700 caliber, which has 278 components, 31 jewels, and vibrates at 36000 vibrations per hour whilst building up a 50-hour power reserve. The power reserve feature saves the power that your timepiece needs to work appropriately. The piece has a battery life of just under five days, or 115 hours, for all “basic” tourbillon watches.

In addition, the casing has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal front and transparent back. It also features a refined sapphire crystal bezel studded with baguette diamond and six H-shaped titanium screws and is water-resistant to 100 meters/330 feet.

The magnificent dial displays central hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as Chrono subdials. It provides tiny seconds at the 9 o’clock mark, 30 minutes at the 3 o’clock mark, and a 12-hour dial at the 6 o’clock mark. On the other hand, the date is displayed in a window at the 4:30 o’clock mark.
