Overall Review

Gerald Charles Genta created some of the most famous watches of the 20th century, from 1931 to 2011. He began by deciding to establish Gerald Charles to set himself apart from Bvlgari when the latter acquired his business in 2000. In 2003, he subsequently sold it to investors from the Italian Ziviani family, but he remained the lead designer.

After Gerald Genta’s passing in 2011, the product went dormant, but it was re-released in 2020 and entrusted to Federico Ziviani. In 2020, a vintage Gerald Genta edition from 2006 served as the inspiration for the Maestro Anniversary, a distinctive stainless steel timepiece. Gerald Genta was frequently referred to as Maestro during his lifetime, which is how the watch got its name.

The second and last Maestro Premier 2021 Version has been released. The product in question is the Maestro 3.0 Chronograph Premier 2021 Edition, a piece that embodies the manufacturer’s secretive ethos throughout its distinctive yet understated appearance.

The Gerald Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph Premier 2021 Edition pays homage to Maison’s distinctive aesthetic strategy for its watchmaking. It combines the effervescent combination of stunning elegance, subtle details, as well as an eye for the unusual with an air of nonchalance, particularly in the eyes of compliance.

The casing of the Maestro 3.0 Chronograph Premier 2021 Version is brilliantly designed and measures 39 mm in rose gold. It is constructed with multi-layered flanks that emphasize the case’s octagonal construction. Besides, it makes the object a noticeably more three-dimensional appearance appealing.

The Emerald green dial, as well as the warmth of the rose gold casing, combine to create a delicate and unified aesthetic that is as admired as it is timeless. The green vulcanized rubber strap featuring a Clous de Paris motif design completes the green-gold appeal by pushing it farther with its sunburst finishing.

The Calibre GCA3022/12, a system inspired by the Gerald Charles Calibre GCA3002, powers the Maestro 3.0 Chronograph Premier 2021 Version (produced by Vaucher). The hand-polished automated caliber GCA3022/12 has a 50-hour power reserve as well as an oscillation weight made of 18-karat gold. It also weighs 110 gr, making it extremely light and comfortable to wear.

A magnificent afterthought that closely resembles Gerald Genta’s earlier creations, the Gerald Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph Premier 2021 Edition is the culmination of a series of unconventional timepieces. Similar to Genta’s ground-breaking works from earlier generations, it’s a gorgeous watch that combines the aesthetic and mechanical realms.

After the wildly popular Premier 2021 Editions were quickly out of stock, Gerald Charles offered the Maestro in a steel case. The supply will be restricted, although they are not limited editions.
