Dalai Lama Rolex Day Date

The spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhism and their 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is wearing a rare Rolex Day-Date Lapis Lazuli dial in 18k yellow gold. A watch that was gifted to him many years ago.

It is often difficult to spot what kind of a watch he wears, because the Dalai Lama normally wears it rotated. When a watch is worn thay, it serves to camouflage the watch, and the Dalai Lama doesn’t want his watch to appear too fancy. Sometimes he even puts his watch on inexpensive stretchable bracelets, like in the left photo.

In the right photo (down in the left corner), we see him wear a two-tone Rolex on a jubilee bracelet. It is hard to guess though what kind of a Rolex it is just by just seeing the bracelet.
