Problably one of the biggest disinformations in horological history: Patrick Bateman (played by actor Cristian Bale) never wore a Rolex Datejust in the classic 2000 movie American Psycho, because Rolex didn’t want to be associated with an evil movie character.
The watch in the movie is a discontinued 38mm two-tone stainless steel Seiko with a fluted bezel reference SNXJ90, featuring a white colored dial with day and date display feature, on a jubilee bracelet.
Its resemblance to the Datejust is of course unquestionable, but still – it is a Seiko.
