Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

The hero Karim Benzema of Real Madrid, who scored the decisive goal against Manchester City F.C. during tonight’s semifinal in the Champions League, wears the extremely popular Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar. It features a white ceramic 41mm case that surrounds a dark blue tapisserie dial with silver subdials.

About the Watch

Audemars Piguet’s amazing tradition commenced in 1875 in the little mountain village of Le Brassus, and it is ingrained in its artistry. During the fierce winter months, Vallée de Joux farmers Edward Auguste Piguet with Jules Louis Audemars resorted to watchmaking. The Audemars Piguet alliance became identified with Swiss-made precision as a result of necessity. The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar is one of AP’s most well-known watches. It has made its way into mainstream culture and onto the wrists of countless celebrities, music superstars, and renowned players. As the greatest independently owned Swiss watchmaking brand, Audemars Piguet’s famous and seemingly endless development is anchored in the founders’ spirit.

The famous octagonal casing and a fitted band of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is one of the most recognizable timepieces in the market. Besides, it gave rise to the creation of the “Luxury Sports Watch” with its successive fame. Hundreds of editions, complexities, and materials have been used to recreate this piece. Dark ceramic, a contemporary and futuristic composite, also made it to the RO.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in white ceramic was recently introduced by the brand. This watch, with its casual, sporty, summery look, combines charm and finesse. It is made of ceramic, which is exceptionally durable, scratch-resistant, and light. Therefore, you can enjoy its lightness and pristine whiteness without worrying about scratches.

Audemars Piguet went with a dark blue “grande tapisserie” dial with silver contrast subdials (all made in-house). White markings, as well as brilliant materials in the dials and displays, contrast wonderfully with the white enclosure. Except for the week numeral featured on the inner ring, the display is similar to all Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars. The day, date, month, leap year, and moon phase round out the QP complexity (laser microstructure on a glittering aventurine surface). The ceramic casing is complemented by a matching ceramic bracelet with a titanium fold-over clasp. It can endure a depth of up to 20 meters (65 feet).

This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar White Ceramic is powered by the caliber 5134, which is more similar to its steel and gold brethren. The automated movement is ultra-thin (4.31mm), with a diameter of 29.00mm and a power reserve of up to 40 hours. It has interchangeable inertial blocks and vibrates 19,800 times per hour. With Geneva bars, circular graining, and lovely bevels, the finish is exceptionally detailed. The rotor is also exquisitely ornamented.

The extra-thin movement features barrel hanging. An outer ring revolving on four ruby rollers guides the oscillating weight, reducing wear and friction to the minimum level. On an aventurine basis, the moon phase marker is laser microstructured. Besides, the astrological moon requires a change every 125 years and 317 days.
