Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon

Rapper Austin Richard Post “Post Malone,” whose stage name comes from inputting his birth name into a rap name generator, wears the discontinued Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon.

The 44mm titanium case features an open-worked dial with a GMT function and selection indicator. The second time-zone indicator is at 3 o’clock, the crown position indicator at 6 o’clock the tourbillon at 9 o’clock. The dial has a blackened bridge, a black ceramic central bridge, and white gold Royal Oak hands.

Overall Watch Description

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon has a sculpted-shaped casing with a diameter of 44 mm and 16.05 mm thick. It’s also composed of lightweight and solid titanium instead of steel. The piece is equipped with an integrated black rubber band and deployant buckle that complements the piece’s black ceramic bezel and crown precisely.

More features of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon include an open-worked dial with a second time-zone marker at 3, a crown place index at 6, and a tourbillon at 9 o’clock. Others are a black anodized aluminum bridge formed like an hourglass in the core of the dial, white gold skeletonized hands, and a black anodized aluminum flange. To complete the stunning look of this piece, Audemars Piguet added a handy pusher at 4 o’clock that moves the dual time zone disc as needed.

With two-dimensional discs, the GMT indicator enables a quick clock readout in a second time bracket, making it simple to keep time. The first, on which the characters are engraved, takes 12 hours to make one round. The second, shown below, achieves a circle in 24 hours and contains two colored areas. They include a daytime white half as well as a nighttime black half. Some H-serial Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon pieces have a dial with only the letters AP and the phrase ‘Swiss’ below. However, this I-serial model has a newer display with AP and the Audemars Piguet text above it.

The manually winding movement, caliber 2913, of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon is visible through the back display case. This is a noteworthy feat in and of itself. Audemars Piguet coated the front and rear sapphire crystals with a brilliant anti-reflective treatment. This ensures optimum readability and fully comprehends this masterpiece without any undesirable flashes or glare. The Audemars Piguet caliber 2913 has a dual-barrel system with a 10-day power reserve (when completely wound), including a tourbillon enclosure that spins per 60 seconds.

The tourbillon housing comprises 85 specific elements and measures just 0.45 grams. An expert craftsman spends close to three days building the movement’s 85 parts and 2 full days simply installing the cage. This is in addition to two weeks combining the movement’s 291 parts plus 29 jewels.

What can we say about the wrist? The timepiece fits perfectly on the wrist and has a strong presence. If you’re used to the luxuries in life, you’ll understand why your Ferrari F12 Berlinetta requires a high-end wristwatch. The level of this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon is unquestionably high.
