Adding IWC Hollywood glamour to the high-speed Vegas mix

Las Vegas, the city of high stakes, glitz, and neon lights, played host to a turbocharged union between IWC Schaffhausen, Mercedes-AMG, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell. Hold onto your hats, because this partnership celebration wasn’t your average tea-and-cookies affair—it was a full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal extravaganza.

Picture this: a pop-up paradise in the heart of the Vegas desert. No, it wasn’t a mirage; it was “Speed City,” where IWC and Mercedes-AMG threw a bash hotter than the Nevada sun. They didn’t just roll out the red carpet; they unfolded a whole racetrack, bringing in the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé and IWC’s latest Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 collection. Fancy cars, tick. Stylish watches, double tick.

But wait, it gets better. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell weren’t just there to sign autographs—they got behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé for a show-stopping driving performance. And guess what? They weren’t alone; drones joined in for a symphony of lights in the desert sky. It was like a Michael Bay movie, but with more horsepower and fewer explosions (thankfully).

In between the vroom-vroom action, there was a panel discussion. You know, the fancy stuff where people in suits chat about design. Christian Knoop from IWC and Robert Lešnik from Mercedes-Benz spilled the beans on how they turn dreams into wheels and watches. Apparently, making a car look sporty-emotional involves a bit of magic, and crafting a chronograph watch needs more than a sprinkle of fairy dust—go figure!

And cue the legends—Lucy Hedges and David Coulthard stepped in for a chinwag with the drivers. They reminisced about the track, threw in a few jokes, and gave us a sneak peek into what to expect from the upcoming night race. Oh, the suspense!

Wrapping up the night, the big bosses took the stage—Chris Grainger-Herr from IWC, Michael Schiebe from Mercedes-AMG, and Toto Wolff from the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1TM Team. They toasted to the success and reminisced about the good ol’ days. Bet they had some stories to tell!

But it wasn’t just about rubbing elbows and sipping bubbly. Guests could explore exhibitions at “Speed City,” marveling at the sweet rides from Mercedes-AMG and ogling the watches at IWC’s pop-up boutique. Think of it as a playground for the luxury-obsessed grown-ups.

And in a twist that could only happen in Vegas, the star-studded celebration by IWC in honor of their timeless alliance with Mercedes 🏎️💨⏱️ drew in some A-listers. Actors James Marsden and Aaron Paul made an entrance that even the desert couldn’t outshine, decked out in their finest IWC timepieces.

Aaron set the night on fire sporting a 40 mm IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar in 18-carat rose gold. His wrist candy boasted a silver dial that was a Swiss symphony of power reserve indicators, date, month, a four-digit year (counting down to the future, perhaps?), sub-seconds, day, and even a moon phase. Talk about a watch that’s not just ticking but moonwalking!

Meanwhile, James flashed his style with a 40 mm IWC Portugieser Automatic in stainless steel, rocking a Salmon dial that was as suave as his silver screen performances.

As the cameras clicked and the night sparkled, these Hollywood gents added a touch of Tinseltown to an already dazzling affair. Their wrist companions weren’t just watches; they were statements, conversations, and maybe even a little envy from the onlookers.

So, while the engines roared and the desert skies lit up with drones and lights, these two gentlemen added a touch of stardust to an evening that was already brimming with luxury, speed, and style.

And hey, if anyone thought the desert was too hot before, it was sizzling now with these Hollywood stars flaunting their IWC masterpieces.
