The Royal Oak will remain Audemars Piguet’s signature model, despite the company investing a lot of time and energy in expanding the Code 11.59 line. It’s no secret that Audemars Piguet is best known for its Royal Oak piece. However, despite the company’s best efforts to avoid becoming exclusively associated with one style, you can almost always count on the release of a brand-new Royal Oak watch every year. Moreover, having a classic design can be a double-edged blade because if it is changed too much, it may lose the characteristics that make it a symbol.

Due to this, ever since the early 1970s, practically all Audemars Piguet Royal Oak timepieces have somewhat provided the same fundamental structure, with their dials, materials, casing dimensions, and complexities serving as the only genuinely distinguishing features. Besides, AP has launched a new variation of the 37mm Royal Oak made completely of yellow gold. The piece also features a dial made of a pure turquoise gem as part of the company’s most recent set of new launches.

This yellow-golden Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is merely made of a variety of metals and features a unique dial. The casing is identical to its predecessors in that it is 37 mm wide and 8.9 millimeters thick. It features the traditional Royal Oak traits of incorporated lugs, an octagon bezel, and 8 visible screws. An engraved crown at three o’clock allows a view of the movement and contributes to the casing’s 50 meters of waterproofing. Likewise, the face and rear of the case are furnished with smooth sapphire crystals.

In addition, this exquisite 37mm yellow gold Royal Oak is as timeless and conventional as it gets regarding the overall design. Nevertheless, the most important aspect of this new edition is that it is made of 18k yellow gold instead of rose gold, which has been lacking from the 37mm Royal Oak collection since 2019.

One factor that makes this new variant unique is the addition of yellow gold to the 37mm Royal Oak line. However, its real highlight is the dial made of pure turquoise gemstone. The turquoise comes from Mexico and is meticulously chosen before being sliced and molded into only 0.75 millimeters thick discs.

On the other hand, the dial is entirely devoid of writing and engraving, apart from a subdued black minute line and the compulsory “Swiss Made” hallmark at six o’clock. This is to highlight the top of the genuine turquoise gem. Furthermore, time is shown by three gold centrally positioned markers in a similar classic design that can be seen from the other of the Royal Oak series. Similarly, a rectangle date aperture with a turquoise calendar disc rests at three o’clock.

Moving ahead, the groundbreaking Caliber 5900 manual movement powers this new yellow-gold AP Royal Oak. The 29-jewel Audemars Piguet Cal. 5900, which has 186 parts, has a rate of 28,800 mph (4 Hz) and provides customers with a power reserve of about 60 hours.

Finally, as one might imagine, the casing of this new AP Royal Oak is equipped with the series’s trademark integrated bracelet. It is made of strong 18k yellow gold to complement the remainder of the case.
