The spectacular Richard Mille RM 35-03 Rafael Nadal in blue

Monegasque mega watch collector and car kingpin GMK001 “The Aberrant” is the first person in the world (Nadal excluded) who is spotted with the spectacular Richard Mille RM 35-03 Rafael Nadal in blue Quartz TPT on a white Quartz TPT caseband. The model has a revolutionizing butterfly rotor that makes it possible to vary the rotor geometry and control the winding of the movement, which is optimal for a wearer with an active lifestyle.

About The Watch

The association involving the watchmaker Richard Mille and tennis superstar Rafael Nadal began in 2008. Throughout the years, this one-of-a-kind collaboration has produced not just the lightest tourbillon but also other horological masterworks. The ever-popular Richard Mille x Rafael Nadal Collection has been upgraded with a new wristwatch that continues to push the limits of horological innovation.

The renewed RM 35-05 Rafael Nadal is a variation of the original RM 35, which had an ultra-lightweight movement weighing only 4.3 grams. The new watch is available in two colors: blue Quartz TPT with a white Quartz TPT case band and white Quartz TPT with a carbon TPT case band.

The redesigned tonneau case is 43.15 x 49.95 x 13.15 mm in size and is manufactured out of Quartz TPT. The unique material is not only lightweight but also highly durable and can bear great damage. Quartz fibers are used to make it, and they are obtained by melting high-purity quartz rods at high temperatures and spinning off filament. According to the watchmaker, a mere fiber may have a tensile strength of 800 kilo-pounds per square inch, which is insane. However, besides its useful qualities, the material is also rather attractive, lending the watch a distinct appearance.

Whereas the casing material is distinctive, the watch’s standout feature is its customizable geometry rotor. An in-house RMAL2 skeletonized automated-winding movement with the first-ever changeable wheel powers the wristwatch. Even though the RM 35-02 featured a comparable feature, Richard Mille specialists could only alter the rotor.

The rotor geometry of RM 35-05 may be modified using a pusher situated at 7 o’clock. The geometry is changed via two movable wings that adjust the center of mass as they move. Pressing the pusher enables the Sport mode, shown on the dial by an on/off indicator. The sport mode prevents the rotor from moving, which is required when doing “strenuous exercise.”

The RM 35-05 in blue Quartz TPT with a white Quartz TPT case band has a water resistance of 50 meters, sapphire front and back with anti-glare coating, and a 5th-grade titanium crown. The gorgeous movement is visible thanks to the clear sapphire case back. The model has a game-changing butterfly rotor that allows you to change the rotor design and manage the winding of the movements, making it ideal for an active wearer.

In addition, the mechanism features a 55-hour powerful performance and has a baseplate made out of titanium and bridges. It also includes Twin mainspring barrels, Glucydur free-sprung balance, 28,800 mph in 38 jewels. The finish is a wet sandblasted grade 5 titanium baseplate with grey electro plasma treatment.

Price market: $1,200,000.00 USD
