The late Brazilian Formula One legend Ayrton Senna, who died in an Grand Prix accident in 1994 and is considered to be one of the best drivers of all time, owned and used to wear a steel and yellow gold Tag Heuer Split Seconds Chronograph.
The story behind this watch goes that Senna promised that if he won the 1993 world championships in Formula One, he would switch watches with a mechanic. Senna didn’t win, unfortunate for him, and gave the watch to the mechanic.
