TAG Heuer has recently produced a brand-new titanium edition of the Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph. It is a member of its most recent collection of fresh products, launched in Singapore during LVMH Watch Week.

The first TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph was introduced at Watches & Wonders last year. It featured a black DLC-treated stainless steel casing with a rubber strap and illuminated carbon bezel, adding a new degree of independence to the company’s versatile outdoor sporting piece. It was just an issue of time until light-powered movement became integrated into other TAG Heuer variants. However, the inaugural Solargraph was intended to feature a bold look as the company’s first-ever solar-powered clock.

This latest TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph features a sand-blasted titanium casing and bracelet. It provides a similar extremely functional solar movement in a noticeably classic overall visual packaging.

For those who have previously used other variants from the modern Aquaracer line, this latest titanium edition of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph will instantly look recognizable. This is due to its angled approach on a typical diving watch design casing. Likewise, the caseback is solidly screwed down and is 40 millimeters wide. It also features a similar inscribed screw-down crown at three o’clock, smooth sapphire crystal, and dual anti-reflective coating. Therefore, this new product is precisely what you’d anticipate from a wristwatch member of the latest TAG Heuer Aquaracer collection in terms of its general shape and size.

Even the striking twelve-sided revolving time bezel from the previous editions in the line has been retained. This newest TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph’s outer casing elements are completely made of second-grade titanium that has been sand-blasted, as opposed to stainless steel parts featuring glossy and refined faces.

On the other hand, this latest titanium Aquaracer Solargraph provides users with a generous 200 meters of waterproofing, similar to its predecessors (as suggested by the “200” in its title). As a result, it can fully satisfy TAG Heuer’s dream of becoming a fun outdoor activity piece.

The dial and pointers on the latest titanium Solargraph variant seem strikingly similar. This is despite possessing a very different exterior design from the original Solargraph edition. In addition, the black-polished indicators covered with white Super-LumiNova are coated and set against a dark face like a sunray with plane stripes.

Similar to other solar-powered timepieces, the surface’s semi-translucence is a requirement for light to penetrate the solar panels situated beneath it. A chapter circle surrounding the clock has a white engraved minute tracker and small artic blue squares to indicate the 5-minute markings. The “Solargraph” moniker is again shown over the depth level in identical icy blue lettering, while a date opening is situated at the three o’clock position.

Furthermore, the hands seem to have been brought over from the previous Solargraph version, like the dial. The black-polished hour and minute indexes of the newest titanium TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph are covered in white Super-LumiNova. Likewise, the seconds’ indicator is polar-blue polished to complement the remainder of the dial highlights. The minute hand also shines blue in the darkness for increased clarity, whereas the hour hand and dial markings all light up green.

In addition, this TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph is equipped with a complementing bracelet composed of second-grade titanium that has been sand-blasted to reflect its casing and bezel.

The titanium bracelet attached to the redesigned Solargraph has fully matte finishes, a rather conventional flattened three-link form, and a foldable clip with a dual push-button closure and an attached extension mechanism. Also, this new Solargraph has fully sand-blasted faces, which give it a notably greater tool-oriented general look. This is despite the fact that the casing and bracelet’s main lines are nearly comparable to those of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer in stainless steel.

Although the watch’s casing has undergone major changes, the Caliber TH50-00 solar-powered quartz movement that powers the updated titanium TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph remains unchanged. This movement also powers the date window.

The Caliber TH50-00 was created particularly for TAG Heuer and made in collaboration with La Joux-Perret. It is renowned for utilizing the sun, an endless power source that has numerous proven advantages. Because the Solargraph movement is rechargeable by sunlight or any other synthetic lighting, replacing the device’s battery isn’t necessary.

The watch can thus run for a full day with just two minutes of direct sunshine. Furthermore, it can operate for a maximum of 6 months without exposure to light once completely charged, which takes below 20 hours under the sun. Also, due to its speedy charging time, if the watch ceases ticking, it can be restarted after 10 seconds of exposure to any source of light.
