Roger Federer with the new Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite”

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer is wearing the 2022 release Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite” in oystersteel featuring a black dial and a two-color cerachrom bezel inserts in green and black ceramic on a jubilee bracelet. The model is an original version of the GMT-Master II but with the difference of having the crown on the left side of the case instead of the usual right. I honestly love it and think it was a minor but genius move by Rolex.

Watch Description

Rolex’s GMT Master II series has a new model: the ‘Sprite.’ This GMT clock has a black bezel with a Rolex green bezel. The contemporary Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite” has always been and will continue to be controversial because it is Rolex’s initial left-handed component. Not only has the crown been shifted to the opposite end, but also the date window.

An in-house caliber 3285 automated movements power the Rolex Sprite GMT Master II. With a 70-hour power reserve and COSC accreditation, the Rolex 3285 is a part of the new generation of Rolex calibers. The Pepsi and Batman 3285 movements are separate from the Sprite 3285 moves. Modifications were necessary to duplicate the movement to fit the crown as well as the date window at the 9 o’clock position.

The timepiece has a ceramic 24-hour graduated bidirectional rotating bezel cerachrom inlay with two-color green and black shaped numerals and graduations, as well as molded numerals and graduations. Compared to other Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite” replicas, this one features a high-quality ceramic bezel with etched numbers instead of written numbers.

Furthermore, this Rolex Sprite knockoff is fully operational. It contains a mid second, minute, and hour display, as well as an indicator that is accessible 24 hours each day. It also features a rapidly set second-time zone with different hour indicators. The name “immediate date” refers to a date that comes, whereas Stop-Seconds are used to establish the time correctly.

The Rolex Sprite comes with both the Oyster and Jubilee straps. Choosing the proper one might thus have a significant impact on the type of timepiece you get. The Oyster and the Jubilee are considered the greatest on the market by the majority of people; however, others disagree.

Rolex has previously required customers to choose between two GMT Master II versions till 2021. Therefore, if you’re trying to figure out which band is right for you, the Oyster bracelet is more sporty and great for everyday wear. The Jubilee, on the other hand, is suitable for those who prefer a more showy and sophisticated design. In general, you can’t go wrong with either option when it comes to the Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite.”

Irrespective of the argument, the Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite” is an invaluable asset to the GMT line. After all, it is still a Rolex, meaning the craftsmanship will remain consistent, and the demand will almost probably remain high. Furthermore, it could be great for a substantial percentage of users.
