Richard Mille RM67-02 featuring a case in quartz and carbon TPT

Italian-Australian Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, who races for McLaren under the Australian flag, wears a 39mm Richard Mille RM67-02 featuring a case in quartz and carbon TPT, with orange details – symbolizing his team’s colors. This watch is not available on the market and has, therefore, no price tag.

The 39mm case, together with the rubber strap, weighs only 32 grams, which makes it one of the lightest wrist watches in the world.

If it was for sale, what do you think the price would be?

Overall Description

It all began with the RM 67-01, a watch whose weight, slimness, and simplicity made it an ideal option. Besides, it altered its designs to emphasize its underlying sporty capabilities. In addition to becoming a signature of the product’s sports timepieces, the specification of the bezels and casing with 4 extensions adds to the casing structure’s robustness.

The Richard Mille RM 67-02 is the lightest clasp ever made by the industry, weighing only 32 grams. This is all thanks to a blend of TPT synthetic structures, 5-grade titanium, as well as an elasticated wristband.

The RM 67-02 is the timepiece for any occasion since it is thin, lighter, colorful, beautiful, and sporty. Richard Mille defied convention by designing this version to adapt to various recreational activities. This is why a number of the product’s associates have created a RM 67-02 in the colors of their different nations. This is in order to put the automated caliber to the testing in a variety of situations.

The baseplate is made of 5th-grade titanium with a black DLC coating, which gives it a lot of stiffness and accurate surface uniformity. Both are important for the gear train to work well. The bridges are also made of 5th-grade titanium and a grey DLC finish. These parts are hand-satin-finished, micro-blasted, and beveled.

In addition, the RM 67-02’s casings are constructed of Quartz TPT and Carbon TPT. These composites have a damascene look and are made up of stacks of parallel strands created by splitting silica and carbon filaments.

After that, the layers are arranged using an automated positioning mechanism that rotates the fiber between every layer by 45 degrees. They are produced on a CNC machine from Richard Mille’s production plant after being blasted to 120°C and exposed to a force of six bars. Carbon TPT is manufactured in the same way, although with carbon threads.

The entire casing is waterproof to up to 30 meters owing to 2 Nitrile O-ring sealing. It is put together with 12 titanium spline screws as well as 316L stainless steel screws.

The caliber CRMA7 effectively gives a sensation of strength and power with its satin-finished, polished hands and firm edges. The dial is made out of a piece of titanium that is barely four-tenths of mm thickness, and its lines match that of the movement. It is then hand-painted in the colors of the Richard Mille partner’s logo after being finished with a black DLC coating.

Richard Mille has also fitted the RM 67-02 with its innovative comfy strap for superior wearing pleasure. The strap is very flexible and completely seamless, enabling it to suit the curves of every wrist’s unique structure properly.
