The tribute piece unique Genius Legacy, “Zlatan” by Genius, has a stainless steel case with a width of 40mm and a “Grande Tapisserie” pattern dial with the ‘Clash Of Universes’ logo. The steel bracelet is synonymously from two legendary watch models.

The black and red details are a nod to English club Manchester United’s colors, a team that Zlatan Ibrahimović represented a few years back.

Overall Watch Review

Nobody in the timepiece market can proclaim a legacy such as that of the legendary Gerald Genta, who passed away in 2011. Genta didn’t just create one legendary watch for a single company. Throughout his lengthy career, he created a number of timeless and unique versions with some of the most renowned watchmakers in the industry, including Patek Philippe, Omega, Audemars Piguet, as well as IWC. Simply said, Genta has had an unparalleled impact on contemporary watch construction.

Genta, born in Geneva in 1931, developed in the center of the Swiss watch industry during a period of significant timepiece change, particularly in casing design. He could have seen some of the most recognizable timepieces in the business evolve as a small boy throughout the 1930s.

During his birth year, there was the release of the Reverso by Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Oyster Perpetual by Rolex, and the Calatrava by Patek Philippe. Towards the end of the century, Switzerland had fully established itself as one of the epicentre of a watchmaker, and the watch was becoming a need for men of all statuses.

As a talented young designer who enjoyed using watercolors, Genta was hired by the now-defunct watch company Universal Geneve. This was during the early 1950s at the age of 20 after completing his training as a jeweller & goldsmith. Here, Genta created his first notable timepiece, showcasing his skill at an early age.

A collector may mention their “grail” while talking of their timepiece collection. It is terminology for an item, which is at the front of the wishlist for those who are unfamiliar. Gerald Genta’s name might not be mentioned. However, it should be noted that many of the grails had their beginnings in the man’s notebook. It’s not surprising that people respect him. He has also been dubbed the Picasso of watches by some.

To date, the iconic Genius Legacy watches remain appreciated, and many celebrities wear them, including the 36-year-old Swedish football legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The exclusive Genius Legacy “Zlatan” homage watch by Genius sports a stainless steel casing that is 40mm wide. The dial features the “Grande Tapisserie” motif as well as the “Clash Of Universes” emblem. Two storied watch variants are associated with the steel bracelet.

On the other hand, the black with red accents pays homage to the colors of the English club Manchester United, which Zlatan Ibrahimovi once played for.

Undoubtedly, Gerald Genta changed the course of timepieces history. Without him, it may even be impossible to imagine a high-end watch built of steel. In other words, without Genta, the universe would have been missing out on a huge of items.
