Congratulations to Novak Djokovic for winning his 7th Wimbledon title after having defeated Nick Kyrgios of Australia in today’s final with 3-1 in sets. The Serb now has 21 grand slam titles, one behind all-time best Rafael Nadal. During the price ceremony, he was wearing a Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 ‘Ceramic Blue’ with a titanium case, measuring 45 mm in width and featuring a skeletonized matte blue dial, on a blue rubber strap.

Overall Review

Among the limited timepiece companies, today that envisions and designs new movements from both a functional and artistic standpoint is Hublot. The Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 ‘Ceramic Blue’ is one of the brand-new Hublot timepieces that debuted at Baselworld 2018.

The watch has a blue ceramic casing with a micro-blasted finish, a 45mm diameter, and a 15.95mm height. The bezel’s top section is secured to the case with six screws and is shaped like the symbol H, one of Hublot’s logo elements. It is composed of similar material to the casing, whereas the lower parts are built of black resin composites.

The case features two anti-reflective polished scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on all edges. Besides, it is entirely waterproof to 100 meters, just like many other versions in the model’s athletic product line.

The model is available with a modern skeletal dial that complements the overall high-end aspect of the piece. Instead of being traditionally ornamented, the movement’s exposed components are embellished industrially. At 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock, respectively, are miniature seconds sub-counters as well as power reserve indicators. The dial provides the best readability possible at all times because of the Super LumiNOVA phosphor-coated markers and indexes.

The Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Blue Ceramic watch’s production Caliber HUB1201 movement was developed for over two years. It features a hand-wound movement with a rate of 3 Hz (21’600 A/h), including 223 parts (24 jewels) and a great power reserve of 10 days.

The materials and the mechanisms that make up the Big Bang Meca-10 Blue Ceramic are cutting-edge. It features a cogwheel system consisting of two rollers rolling along a horizontal line and two barrels perpendicular to the power reserve indication. Besides, it is a monument to both aesthetic and technological prowess. An opening at 3 o’clock that reveals a red dot whenever the movement gets close to the power reserve’s end highlights this structural design. It also has a gearwheel positioned at 6 o’clock that displays the precise time duration left and the controlling part with a small second adjuster that is visible at 7 o’clock.

Additionally, the watch is mounted on a rubber strap that has a similar blue finishing on the front. The strap is fastened with a Hublot-signed folding clip composed of black refined ceramic as well as black-plated titanium. The interior is also black.

On the wrist, this timepiece makes a very clear-cut and uncomplicated statement. This is for wristwatch enthusiasts who enjoy contemporary, manly designs. Its also for those who value automatic movements that are artistically created to be aesthetically attractive and commanding.
