The innovative Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 126720VTNR is technically the first left-handed Rolex ever created to have a crown location at 9 o’clock rather than 3 o’clock. It also has a cerachrom bezel inlay that blends green and black, which has never been produced before. Moreover, the earlier “Pepsi,” “Coke,” and “Rootbeer” bezel hue pairings have earned the product the moniker “Sprite” among watch enthusiasts.

With its refreshing color scheme and striking structure, the Rolex Sprite undoubtedly gives the company a new start. However, being able to get your hands on a brand-new Rolex has become harder over the last few years. It’s only possible if you participate in a major sport or have a sizable online fan base.

It thus makes sense that this watch, which is so unique and sought-after, would be a favorite among celebrity enthusiasts. In light of this, we will examine the renowned individuals that have donned the Rolex Sprite watch since its release:

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic

On May 22, 2022, AC Milan defeated Sassuolo 3-0, winning the Serie A championship for the first time in eleven years. The 40-year-old Swedish forward for AC Milan joined his colleagues in celebrating the title on May 23.

During the party, Zlatan was sporting an impressive striking watch; a GMT-Master II VTNR with a jubilee bracelet. He wore it on his right hand, which is the “proper” wrist for this timepiece.

  • Declan Rice

Football players appear to follow a pattern when it comes to obtaining the desired lefty GMT. Declan Rice, a defensive midfielder and center-back for West Ham United

and the England national league, collected his player of the year trophy on May 10, 2022, while sporting the GMT-Master II 126720VTNR on the oyster bracelet.

  • Karim Benzema

One may question whether they all share similar tastes, given that numerous international football players have been photographed sporting the VTNR since its release.

Like other footballers, Karim Benzema of Real Madrid was also seen with the Rolex GMT-Master II 126720VTNR with an oyster bracelet while commemorating his team’s 1-0 win against Liverpool on May 28, 2022, during the UEFA Champions League final.

  • Roger Federer

Roger Federer, a legendary tennis player from Switzerland, was seen on May 22, 2022, attending the F1 Grand Prix in Barcelona while sporting a timepiece on a jubilee band on his left wrist. Generally, Federer is a real tennis icon; therefore, it is not surprising that he obtained this new watch. He is also among the most well-known people in the world.

Earlier in the twenty-first century, his extraordinary abilities took over the sport. He established a landmark by claiming eight f-in Wimbledon trophies as well as becoming the first player to sweep 20 Grand Slam men’s singles titles! It thus makes good sense that he was able to obtain the watch. It’s also probably the main factor in Rolex’s decision to make him their brand ambassador.

  • Neymar Jr

The Paris Saint-Germain forward from Brazil has a wonderful assortment of authentic timepieces. A GMT-Master II Ref. 126720VTNR on oyster bracelet is among the newest pieces in his portfolio. The player was reportedly spotted taking pictures on holiday in Dubai while flaunting the left-handed GMT on his right wrist.

Neymar wore the lefty timepiece instead of the left wrist on his right wrist, which set him apart from the other owners. The player has also been seen wearing other watches in his right hand. Hence, he is most likely left-handed, though this doesn’t really matter for football. This also makes him the ideal wearer of the newly lefty GMT timepiece.

  • Russel Westbrook

Russell Westbrook, an NBA player and Lakers shooting guard, is the most recent sportsman to own the left-handed Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 126720VTNR.

On July 16, he was pictured wearing the piece on the jubilee bracelet when attending an NBA Summer League match. Given that Westbrook was sporting the clock on his left wrist, it appears that he is not left-handed.

  • Reece James

Reece James, a football player for Chelsea, was seen sporting the VTNR just before Federer was seen sporting it on a jubilee bracelet.

Notably, he wore this left-handed watch designed to be donned on the right wrist on his left hand.

Conclusion

The GMT-Master II is a member of the latest Rolex watch generation unveiled in March 2022. Due to the green and black bezel, this left-handed timepiece has already earned the moniker “Sprite” and is considered among the most sought-after by Rolex enthusiasts and watch collectors.
