Patek Philippe

Importance of maintenance: The life cycle of a Patek Philippe watch begins with its development and continues across generations as long as the product exists. Whether your watch eventually needs to be overhauled, repaired, or restored, having it regularly serviced is essential for assuring its longevity. Only authorized Patek Philippe Service Centers are able to comply with the extremely strict quality criteria.

Here are some recommendations for using and caring for your timepiece:

– Quartz and mechanical watches with manually wound and self-winding movements should be serviced every five years. Batteries last only two to three years, so they must be replaced in shorter intervals by an authorized Service Center or a dealer with Quick Service status.

– A manually wound watch should preferably be wound every morning. This optimizes the flawless function of the movement and reduces its susceptibility to shocks and positional variations.

– Self-winding movements have a power reserve of between 38 and 48 hours (except special models). If the watch has been set aside or stopped running, it can be manually wound with a few gentle turns of the crown until it begins to run again.

– The water resistance of watches is assured with seals that protect them against the ingress of moisture and dust. We recommend having the water resistance of your watch checked once a year by an authorized Service Center or a Quick Service dealer. The check takes only a few minutes.

– Leather straps can age prematurely in contact with water or when exposed to excessive sunlight. Watches with leather straps should be taken off at night to allow the leather to breathe. Please note that leather straps are not covered under the terms of the warranty.
