Breguet

The Breguet brand is more than deserving of its acclaim being that it was founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet, often called the father of modern watchmaking. Since 1775, Breguet has invented and been at the forefront of modern watch innovations, not the least of which is the ingenious tourbillon escapement (a cage that compensates for errors in timekeeping due to the effects of gravity). The world of watches has Breguet to thank for mechanical components such as the gong spring, chronograph, magnetic pivot, self-winding abilities, and essentially the first wristwatch. The Breguet brand is now owned by the Swatch Group, but it continues to pave the way for horological innovation in regards to minute repeaters, tourbillons, and more.
